Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Paro & Transfer to Thimphu
As you arrive at Paro Airport, brace yourself for one of the most spectacular flights in the Himalayas. The breathtaking views of snow-capped peaks and lush valleys create a mesmerizing introduction to the Kingdom of Bhutan. The crisp mountain air greets you as you disembark, a refreshing welcome to your adventure. After completing immigration formalities, you will be greeted by our representative for your journey to Thimphu, the capital city, located just 55 kilometers away.

On this picturesque drive, take a moment to stop at Chuzom, where the Thimphu and Paro rivers converge, adorned with three distinct styles of stupas—Tibetan, Nepalese, and Bhutanese—each telling a story of their own. Upon arrival in Thimphu, check into your hotel and immerse yourself in the vibrant atmosphere of the capital. As evening descends, explore the Local Crafts Bazaar, a treasure trove of Bhutanese art and culture, before concluding your day with a visit to the magnificent Trashichhoedzong. This fortress, a symbol of Bhutan's rich heritage, houses the throne room of the King and various government offices, offering a glimpse into the country's spiritual and political heart.

Day 02: Thimphu Sightseeing & Dochula Pass Excursion
Awaken to the promise of a new day in Thimphu, where the blend of tradition and modernity captivates every visitor. After breakfast, set off for Dochula Pass, a scenic journey that leads you to the Druk Wangyal Chortens, surrounded by colorful prayer flags fluttering in the wind. This serene location, at an elevation of 3,088 meters, offers awe-inspiring views of the majestic Himalayas. On clear days, the peaks of Masagang, Tsendagang, and Gangkar Puensum emerge from the clouds, presenting a breathtaking panorama.

Returning to Thimphu, the afternoon unfolds with visits to the revered Memorial Chorten, built in honor of the third King of Bhutan, and the serene Buddha Point (Kuensel Phodrang), where the towering 169-foot statue of Buddha Shakyamuni reigns over the valley. The National Library beckons next, housing a vast collection of priceless Buddhist manuscripts, while the Institute for Zorig Chusum showcases Bhutan's rich artistic traditions. The Textile Museum provides insight into the intricate artistry of Bhutanese textiles, a true reflection of the nation's cultural identity.

Day 03: Thimphu to Paro
On your third day, delve deeper into the essence of Thimphu with a morning visit to the ancient Changangkha Lhakhang, perched on a ridge overlooking the valley. This sacred temple, steeped in history, is where parents seek auspicious names for their newborns. Next, journey to the Takin Preserve, home to Bhutan's national animal, the takin, which is said to have been created by the legendary Buddhist yogi, Drukpa Kuenley.

As you make your way to Paro, marvel at the stunning landscapes that unfold along the Wang Chhu and Paro Chhu river valleys. Upon arrival in Paro, check into your hotel before visiting the Ta Dzong, a former watchtower that now serves as the National Museum. Its extensive collection, featuring thangkha paintings, weapons, and historical artifacts, paints a vivid picture of Bhutan's cultural heritage. A short walk leads you to Rinpung Dzong, known as the "fortress of the heap of jewels," where intricate wall paintings narrate Buddhist lore, drawing you deeper into the spiritual essence of this enchanting land.

Day 04: Paro Sightseeing
Today’s highlight is the much-anticipated excursion to Taktshang Monastery, famously known as Tiger's Nest. Perched precariously on a cliff 900 meters above the Paro Valley, this sacred site offers an unforgettable hiking experience. The trail winds through lush forests and offers spectacular views, culminating in the awe-inspiring sight of the monastery, which is revered as one of Bhutan's most iconic landmarks. Legend has it that Guru Rinpoche, the founder of Tibetan Buddhism, meditated here after arriving on the back of a tigress.

On your return journey, stop at Kyichu Lhakhang, one of the oldest temples in Bhutan, built in the 7th century. This sacred site marks the introduction of Buddhism to the region, and its serene ambiance provides a perfect reflection on the spiritual journey you have undertaken during your stay.

Day 05: Departure from Paro
As your enchanting journey in Bhutan comes to a close, enjoy an early breakfast at your hotel. A scenic drive to Paro Airport provides a moment to reflect on the memories created during your time in this mystical land. Our representative will assist you with exit formalities, bidding you farewell as you embark on your onward journey, carrying with you the essence of Bhutan—a land where tradition and nature harmoniously intertwined.
