Upon your arrival in Paro, you will be warmly welcomed by your Bhutanese guide, who will assist you with your transfer to Thimphu, the capital city of Bhutan.
The scenic drive takes approximately one hour, covering a distance of about 55 km along the recently widened road. Here, you can stop to admire the Tachogang Temple and the serene nunnery at Sisina.
Thimphu, nestled in a lush valley, is a unique blend of modern development and ancient traditions. The city is the political, economic, and cultural heart of Bhutan, home to civil servants, expatriates, and monks. Its distinct architectural style, characterized by traditional Bhutanese buildings, adds to the city's charm. You will visit Tashichho Dzong, a magnificent fortress that serves as the administrative center for the King and various government organizations, and also houses the central monastic body of Bhutan. This grand structure is a cultural landmark and hosts the annual Thimphu Tshechu festival.
